Carolina Beach Trip

I had the last photo opportunity at Carolina Beach this fall. Where they currently sold Booker Cottage where we stayed for the past 6 years. I truly enjoy the beach and nature there. I get up early and do photo shots with the sunrise and even the birds and get silhouettes which is really cool. Booker Cottage was built in 1932. It was used by 2 families for the start which consists of Lower Booker and Upper Booker. But in 1995 it was hit by Hurricane Fran. Which caused heavy flooding and ran to the area.  I got up early to do the last photo shots from booker and that beach..my last sunset exposures were done here too.   I am really enjoying the fall and fall colors . I am looking forward to taking more photos this year .

Outer Banks Trip

I recently went to the outer banks of North Carolina on big vacation. I relaxed a lot. I did lots of photography while I was there.. And even did Kayaking on the sound. Some people call the Oracoke Lighthouse Blackbeards retreat. I have no idea why they call it this but is very funny. We also visited the  Cape Hatteras Lighthouse in Buxton. We even went to Bodie Island Lighthouse. This was located near the place I stayed at. We did the Pea Island National Wildlife Refuge.. I took some really cool pictures of the wildlife there.

Early Morning Pictures

For the first time,  I got up really early before my trip to the outer banks.  This was my first sunrise shot at the Falconbridge Pond located on the Orange/ Durham County border in North Carolina. The colors of the sunrise that day were really interesting as the pictures show in this shot.  I hope to a fall foliage sunrise shot soon this year.

Too late to be true

Summer is coming to end soon.. I know right. . I have not updated my blog in along time . The post this time is called Too late to be true. As many of you may know I worked this past summer at Camp Royall as an Assistant Counselor & Assistant Activity Director.  I am currently working at O2 fitness Falconbridge doing maintenance work, which I really enjoy doing ! Now i am working on blog and again and hope to continue to work on it more frequently this fall. I have been doing lots of different variety of shots and night exposures lately.  I have seen so many different birds and including the cormorant and Blue Heron along with some pond sliders.   I am gearing up for a wonderful vacation with my family at the outer banks where I am hoping to photograph different lighthouses, beaches, sunsets and even thunderstorms.

Very Colorful July

Its finally July! I felt like todays blog would be called a very colorful July! Its is time for the blackberries to come up and be eaten by animals and birds. We have also had many rainstorms in the past few weeks. We have had tornadoes and even hail with these storms and even frequent lightning bolts too.   Today I walked at my neighborhood pond in 76 degree weather. I stumbled apron a blue heron.  He was a calm bird that acutely allows me to go near him and photograph him. I am on a long week vacation from Camp Royall as an Assistant Activity Director. I have really enjoyed working these past 5 weeks at camp.. I am looking forward to a long vacation this week and taking more photos of nature this week and being home with my family!

Best of the Day

After the past two severe thunderstorms we had some storm damage. This tree had fallen due to possibly a lightning strike or high damaging winds in the past storms this week. This weather in June has been very crazy lately. We might even get more severe weather today. A few days ago we had a hail storm.  Which was very cool to see even in this hot weather. Today its very hot.. I went out walking in 86 degree weather. This was very nice for me . I did some photography and took some cool pictures of macro photography and some landscape photography.

Snap and Crackle its Lightning!

Finally I was able to do my first lightning photos! This was done during a lightning storm last week that was 40 miles away. I now realize lightning is very hard to photograph. Sometimes you can miss the opportunity to shot it and sometimes you can get cool photos of lightning. My photography mentor called me up last saturday to photograph lightning at night. He was grand and responsible for me and he taught me how to photograph lightning. Lightning can be very dangerous to humans. Sometimes you can be struck even when you don't hear thunder and you can be shocked and even sent to the hospital. Lightning is caused by negative and positive charges that are in the air.  A few months ago a woman and man were killed due to Lightning.  This is  a very dangerous situation. This was a very exciting thing for me to photograph lightning and I hope to get more lightning pictures soon!
