First time ever photographing a Bald Eagle

Hi everyone its Al from my blog to talk about a new sighting I photographed today at Jordan Lake.  Today was my first time ever photographing a Bald Eagle at Jordan Lake . My mentor never got the shots of the Bald Eagle but I did so I will talk about the Bald Eagle for a change on my blog. The Bald Eagle is very rare  in Jordan Lake in this area of North Carolina. How do you Identify a Bald Eagle? Heres how to identify a Bald Eagle so you recognize it in the wild. They are very large birds and dark with plank like wings and a large head and bill. Adults have a distinctive black color just like this one with a white head and tail. It has yellow for its bill color. How do you identify it from the rump to its Head? Heres How they have black on their rump and you have to look for the variation of white on its head and the yellow beak. They do catch live prey and they also savage for food along shores as well as lake and they like to eat fish. Hope you have a great night ev

This are baby Geese of baby googling that recently hatched in my neighborhood pond this year. This is a juvenile Double -Creasted Cormorant, I also photographed at my neighborhood pond for this special day. This photograph is the Osprey which is a wading bird that can be found in North Carolina and around lakes and ponds in central North Carolina. This a Red Headed woodpecker I took at Jordan Lake in this area which was cool to photograph at the lake near here in Chatham County.

It's go find a Beetle Day!

I took a huge amount of  photographs  yesterday of these Banded Net Winged Beetles on flowers and on leaves yesterday so I could make a post about them on the blog. So my mentor would be jealous of my holiday I would post about Theses Banded Net- Winged Beetles can be found during the daytime on flowers and eaves and they have a cool color variation on them . The colors of the Banded Net- Winged Beetle are orange and black. They flare their wing  if danger is approaching them. Go outside and find some beetles today !

Macro Monday # 1

Happy May Everyone its Macro Monday for our theme for May. This is an Eastern Male Swallowtail butterfly I decided to do for this Macro Monday to begin the theme of the month. I took this on a butterfly bush using my macro lens to do this shot. Macro work is very tedious to do and its very fun to do once you get use to it.

Happy Mist May

Happy May Day or should we say Misty May morning today for this blog post on the first day of May in 2019. These photos are couple of hours old from today when I did a sunrise mist shot at Mason Land Persevere Farm in Chapel Hill. My mentor Al D won't believe it that I am ahead of him posting today about this photo outing we did today.  Last night it dropped pretty well for the temperatures to produce dew and mist conditions for this morning to take pictures of it. Doing Sunrise photography along with mist photography is awesome to do when the right conditions occur the night before if it drops cool enough to produce mist to photograph. This was a successful sunrise and mist photo outing for the beginning of May and there will be more post this month ahead of the old man walkabout on his blog. Hope everyone has a great start to May!
